Why Facebook bought Whatsapp?

 

As we all know that facebook  is a leading social platform and facebook have more than 2.8 Billion uses .Recently a news spread out  that the  owner of facebook  also bought whatsapp .Today we are going to discuss about this topic .We are going to talk that Is this news true ? Is facebook really have bought whatsapp ? As we all know that whatsapp the the most popular  messaging app ever.Globally  more than 2 billion people use whatsapp.They are increasing day by day . 

On February  2014  the owners of facebook   decided to buy whatsapp.The founder  of  facebook  bought whatsapp to connect all the  social apps .They paid  16 Billion $ to the owners of whatsapp.They paid  4 Billion $ cash to whatsapp owners and   other 12 Billion $ in facebook shares.We can say that now the whatsapp owners have have 12 Billion shares in facebook  and they don't have a single share in whatsapp after february,2014.

In every two years  half  billion  users of  whatsapp  increase.More than 60 Billion messages   sent on whatsapp everyday.This amount is a very big amount.Whatsapp was founded on May 3, 2009 by Jan Koum  and  Brian Acton.These two founders of whatsapp are  the former employees of Yahoo.Messaging is the basic step  of internet and whatsapp was made for this purpose.This is free all around the World.

If someone have a phone number  then he can simply  message all around the world free of cost.No email address or invitation is needed to  make an acount on  whatsapp.You just need a phone number to sign up on whatsapp. Facebook don't show ads on Whatsapp.Whatsapp also don't have  any subscription charges  for its users.Whatsapp makes no money for facebook.Facebook earn money from its ads.It  don't have  more requirements.

From its targeted ads facebook earns money so how can whatsapp earn money because they are no ads  running on whatsapp .Facebook just wanted to connect all its messaging apps like facebook,instagram and whatsapp together.Thats why they  have bought whatsapp for  16 Billion $.Their other reason is that   many whatsapp users don't  use facebook and facebook wants to  fetch these users to facebook.

The other specific reason is that the facebook is the king of all the social media  platforms  till now.On the other hand the users  of whatsapp was increasing very quickly  in  2014.Facebook wants to  remain  at the top that's  why they have bought whatsapp.Now we can see the logo ( Whatsapp By Facebook )  on the display of whatsapp when we open the whatsapp.Now if whatsapp  crosses facebook then  its  reward will also be given to facebook.

Instead  of this facebook also have given an option of  share story on facebook  in whatsapp .This option is just to increase traffic  of facebook by whatsapp.Some  people ask that   facebook will start  running ads on  whatsapp very soon and  if  facebook  just show a single  ad by  google adsense  on whatsapp then they  will earn lakhs of dollars from whatsapp.Some people ask that facebook will start taking subscription charges  for whatsapp in near future. 

On the  other hand facebook also have bought  instagram .On October 6 , 2010  instagram was founded.This social app was founded by Kevin Systrom .Facebook bought instagram  in 2012  from Kevin Systrom.Facebook  paid 1 Billion $ to the owner of  instagram.At that time   this company  comprises of only  13 employees.Instagram was not too much famous  when  facebook  bought it.

Now  instagram is very famous all around the World and it  have more than 1 billion users  in all around the World.Now instagram has more than 5000 employees and  this company  is among the top social media platform now  a  days.Instagram   earn more than 20 Billion $ annually.Instagram also allows its users  to  earn million $.Instagramers   with high amount of followers earn  money by  doing marketing for  for different companies.

Now at conclusion we can say that  facebook is trying to  buy all the   platforms  which came in its  way to success.When the owner of facebook saw a platform  which  is going to compete with facebook in near future then  they  buy  that   platform to  keep facebook at the  toppest point.Hence facebook is earning a big amount of money  from facebook and instagram and we hope that  it  will also begn running ads in whatsapp  very soon.
